dsc04481 20141224 1988587551At some point I will find time to go to Bohol chocolate hills, this time it was but too cumbersome of San Fermin to the ferry in Cebu me, to start a day tour from there.

My research about the chocolate hills had taken me but also on a Web page "chocolate The jagged hills of cebu". But more than a brief info and 2 impressive images not there. And not to be found really much more information on the Internet also. Therefore it was clear that I must site must look and photograph!

I therefore talked Eddy to go there with me, it takes about 3 hours from Cebu. Neither he nor I had idea where exactly the Osmeña's peak and whether or how to get out. Thanks to Google map, I could see the road goes to the OsmenaPeak - it takes you!

dsc04399 20141224 1181365512After 3 hours we came to a fork in the road according to Google maps, we were also hungry and so we stopped at Alberto's Pizza located at Kyleville resort.
The seller but also knew only that one must follow the road and it was then well 1 hour walk to the Summit. But more accurate... Error display.
Well, for the first time eating the pizza and drive away, we can still ask locally.

On the way out I noticed then that the area could be somewhat dangerous or why have the note "gun's not allowed inside" at the resort sign extra.

dsc04416 20141224 1737188044The road there was also just expanded, some remembered a bit on the mountain route in Luzon - but now I was tough, just Eddy was a little "carefully" on the road. And not every rock fall is promptly removed, this shows nicely what can happen if you were at the wrong time in the wrong place.

Because the view is terrific I'm looking always for vantage points - at one point you can stop well and appropriately built a funicular (tramline) the locals there for farms on the other side of the Valley. That they at the same time have created the best "viewpoint" that happened to them so far but not clear. There you could make sure also ne Zipline for tourists out of it.

dsc04495 20141224 1479597263At one point, it comes also to past - great trees impressively the Green crowns and stems completely bald. Further it go to Mantalongon - the "vegetable basket of Cebu". All vegetables are grown in the area and there I saw also first truck that even came close to Thai loading Standart.

Short behind the vegetable market is a lonely sign that peak indicates the Osmeña, and that it is a "private road" - but was not a gate there or anyone looking are we long tagged continue the road just.
With Eddy's SUV we came up quite well the mountain - no idea on what is the specified anywhere "1 hour walk" refers to the Summit. We are then quite far driven and parked the car at a crossroads because Eddy was unsure whether he could still apply or continue.

dsc04494 20141224 1788872696From there we went until denWeg to right, less than 1KM until it no longer continues. The hills are as impressive - no comparison to the mountains in the North of Cebu.

We also immediately had accompanied by 3 small boys naughty offering as guides. OK, then tells us, but where the Osmeña's peak - see Chase on a hill to the right. Funny that an other Einheimishcer - when we asked 500 m before - showed up the Hill to the left. For the locals, where everything is "Osmena peak".

We ran then first the way to the end--there's a small light of village of and a footpath which leads into the Valley and to the coast. From there to get actually in eta 90min. walking to Moalboal or the Kawasan falls.

dsc04491 20141224 1000327969Eddy asked the way, probably we didn't get their way, for we were invited tuba on a few.
I try everything at least once, and I had been drinking previously tuba - and whether I'm dying here now or 40 years...
So I drank anyway, made my first real tuba by locals themselves, from their grade used glasses - and not in any trendy bar where it was - probably treated previously too antiseptic for tourists and I survived it. So bad, it's not so on the Filippinen!

Then we're back to the fork in the road where I noticed a led "Chocolate Hill" to still trail. It was already 2: 00 and therefore I probably will run down the path on the next visit.
At the fork in the road then enters the Valley down - also with interesting views - but an end was not in sight. This can be also explore a motorcycle or Jeep.
We drove back then in a good mood, because also Eddy found impressive beautiful landscape.
Later I found out that we were previously incorrectly bent in the Valley.
Because I now know the right way I will go again in 2015 and document the "chocolate hills of Cebu".

dsc04591 20141224 1959463465On the way back, Eddy then drove to the Marian hills Shrine in Lindogon, a place of pilgrimage similar to Lourdes. I was then completely unknown and I think grad only little about the Internet.
It is a sanctuary of the Virgin Mary anyway - I have photographed the story so that you can read it on the photos.

The building is already enormous and is still massively expanded. In the building, you will find thousands of evidence about healings - and one can imagine how it is there on holidays to go tens of thousands pilgrims.

dsc04599 20141224 1004947663Then we have then CarCar back, where Eddy showed me still short this is the shoe city of Cebu. Only where the 2 shoe of giant is I I haven't figured out.

Cherry (Eddy's wife) just told me afterwards that my--cost only 330 PHP bought sandals in CarCar for 990 PHP in the SM because they are manufactured there. Who so has wife and wants to save-> shop by CarCar for the shoes go and save.
